The Black Phone 2 has made its theatrical debut to positive reviews, and fans are already wondering when the film will get its digital release date. While it is still too early to have an exact date for when the film will be available at home, one can estimate it based on the studio’s previous release patterns.
When will Black Phone 2 get its digital release date?
Black Phone 2 premiered in theaters on October 17, 2025. It is expected to have a theatrical run of at least two to three weeks before reaching digital platforms. Blumhouse tends to release its films digitally quite quickly.
The studio’s last two films, Wolf Man and M3GAN 2.0, became available online within 18 days of their theatrical debuts. Black Phone 2 has received better reviews and may enjoy a longer run. However, its digital release could come around 30 days after its theatrical debut, likely in the second week of November. Typically, digital releases occur between 17 and 45 days after the film’s release.
This estimate only applies to the rental or purchase version. The streaming release will arrive later.
When will Black Phone 2 begin streaming on Peacock?
As a Universal Pictures production, the film will stream on Peacock. Blumhouse’s last two releases reached streaming about 90 days after their theatrical releases. Following that pattern, Black Phone 2 should begin streaming by January 2026.
Black Phone 2 is a direct sequel to the 2021 film The Black Phone. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the movie stars Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, and Jeremy Davies, with the new addition of Demián Bichir.
The synopsis reads, “Bad dreams haunt 15-year-old Gwen as she receives calls from the black phone and sees disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp. Accompanied by her brother, Finn, they head to the camp to solve the mystery, only to confront the Grabber — a killer who’s grown even more powerful in death.”
Those who do not want to wait for the digital and streaming releases can watch the movie in theaters now.
