Agent Coulson and his team will meet a few familiar faces in their last mission in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. There will even be some room for a little crossover among the returning characters. Daniel Sousa from Agent Carter, for example, as Enver Gjokaj will reprise the role for the final season of ABC’s show. Speaking with EW, Gjokaj commented on Avengers: Endgame‘s ending that saw his character’s love interest, Peggy Carter, getting married to Steve Rogers.
“To be honest, it’s so clear in the writing and it’s so clear in the way Hayley plays it,” he said. “I think that was the beautiful tragedy of his attraction to her is that he knew that and he wanted to be with her anyway. He knew he was always going to be second place, and I think that’s a little heartbreaking about Sousa.”

Gjokaj portrayed Daniel Sousa on-screen for the two-season run of the Marvel series. While many fans hoped that Sousa would ultimately end up with Carter, the writers had a different destiny in store for them. And some significant changes in Agent Sousa’s life seem in store, as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. co-showrunner Jeff Bell recently teased.
The character will make his return in the third episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 tonight.
