Marvel Head Praises ‘Incredible’ Canceled MCU Show

Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum recently heaped a lot of praise onto one of the earliest iterations of the MCU in the world of television.

What canceled MCU show received praise?

During a recent appearance on Phase Hero’s live show from New York Comic Con weekend, Winderbaum — who is the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios — showed some glowing praise to the ABC series of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

According to Winderbaum, the show still “holds up,” and praised several moments throughout the series where things pick up. “That show really holds up. There’s moments in that series where they hit their stride and there will be a string of like 5-6 episodes that are incredible,” said Winderbaum.

Originally premiering in 2013, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ran for seven seasons, and aired over 130 episodes throughout its run. The show was created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen, with Jed Whedon, Tancharoen, and Jeffrey Bell serving as showrunners. The series was notable for being the first TV series set in the MCU, and followed the agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D.

While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t introduce a ton into the MCU, it did feature the surprising MCU debut of a character that has yet to come back, in the form of Ghost Rider. The character first appeared in Season 4 of the show, and was portrayed by Gabriel Luna. Ever since his appearance, fans have been hopeful for more of the character to appear.
