A brand new Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow rumor has surfaced online, teasing Krypto’s rumored key role in the upcoming DC Universe movie. Prior to this, Krypto will first make his DCU debut on James Gunn‘s highly anticipated Superman movie led by David Corenswet.
What is Krypto’s rumored role in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow?
In a new report, Superman’s trusted furry sidekick Krypto will reportedly have a bigger role in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Krypto is said to be featured in a flashback, when he was still a puppy in Krypton. The report also teased that the upcoming movie would most likely explore Krypto’s “relationship with the young Kara Zor-El.” The character was created by Otto Binder and Curt Swan for DC Comics.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay written by Ana Nogueira. It will be based on the DC Comic series by Tom King. The movie will be led by House of the Dragon breakout star Milly Alcock as she takes on the mantle of becoming the newest live-action Supergirl. The ensemble cast will also include Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, with Jason Momoa making an appearance as Lobo. It is executive produced by Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther, with DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran serving as producers.
At the moment, the movie is currently slated to arrive in theaters on June 26, 2026, as part of the new DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters arc.
