The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens Book Announced

The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens book will debut in stores this December

Lucasfilm has announced that come December 18, you’ll have some new reading material while you wait in line to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the second time with The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens book, which will debut in stores the same day as the film premieres.

The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, written by Phil Szostak, is a portal that takes you from the earliest gathering of artists and production designers at Lucasfilm headquarters in San Francisco to the fever pitch of production at Pinewood Studios to the conclusion of post-production at Industrial Light & Magic. The book takes fans deep inside the evolution of the film with exclusive interviews with the entire creative team also provide a detailed look at what it took to bring director J. J. Abrams’ vision to life, while the unused “blue sky” concept art offers glimpses into roads not traveled.

Bursting with hundreds of beautiful works of art that include production paintings, concept sketches, storyboards, blueprints, and matte paintings, The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens book will likely delight both Star Wars fans and film enthusiasts for years to come.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and features a new generation of swashbuckling heroes and shadowy villains, as well as the return of fan-favorite smugglers, princesses, and Jedi.
