If there had been a Boba Fett movie, would Temuera Morrison have been chosen to play the role? Or would Disney and Lucasfilm have chosen to go with a big name actor? Regardless of how that could played out, The Mandalorian season 2 reintroduced Morrison as Boba Fett. Now, Morrison is the first Star Wars prequel trilogy actor to headline his own show, The Book of Boba Fett. The first episode is out today, and Disney and Lucasfilm have shared a new behind-the-scenes look at the series.
Within the clip, executive producers Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez praise Morrison’s performance. There may also be a slight spoiler for episode two, as Boba and his right-hand woman, Fennec Shand, march a prisoner into enemy territory.
“Temuera Morrison is an incredible actor,” said Filoni in the video. “He’s an incredible presence. What he brings to the performance of Boba is just awesome.”
“[Morrison] brings all sides of himself when he plays the character,” added Rodriguez. “I think the audience is going to be surprised just how likeable this character is because of Tem.”
The Book of Boba Fett episode 2 will premiere on Wednesday, January 5.
