Ivanna Sakhno Joins the Cast of Star Wars: Ahsoka

So far, the producers behind Star Wars: Ahsoka have been filling the show’s cast with recognizable characters, including Ahsoka Tano herself (Rosario Dawson), Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), and Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo). But of course, the show is bound to introduce some new faces along the way. Now, Deadline brings word that Ivanna Sakhno has joined Ahsoka as a brand new addition to the Star Wars universe.

Sakhno began her acting career in Ukraine before eventually making the jump to English-language projects like Pacific Rim: Uprising, where she appeared as Cadet Viktoriya. In 2018, she co-starred in The Spy Who Dumped Me and also had a recurring role in Hulu’s High Fidelity series last year.

Ahsoka will pick up following Dawson’s guest appearance in an episode of The Mandalorian season 2. The episode notably revealed that Ahsoka is searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has thus far only appeared in Expanded Universe novels, comics, and in animated form on Star Wars Rebels. It’s not clear if Lucasfilm is on the lookout for an actor to bring Thrawn to life in live-action. However, Ahsoka will also mark the live-action debut of Bordizzo’s Sabine Wren, who was previously introduced on Rebels in 2014.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars creator Dave Filoni is writing Ahsoka and executive producing the series alongside Jon Favreau. Disney+ still hasn’t announced a release window for the show. Regardless, the filmmakers are eyeing a March start date.
