New Stargirl Images Offer High Resolution Peaks at the Show’s Heroes and Villains

In less than a week, a new team of young superheroes will rise to take on the Injustice Society in Stargirl. Trailers for the series have already shown most of these heroes in action. However, DC Universe has just released a handful of new high resolution photos (via CBR) that offer more detailed looks at the characters’ costumes.

In addition to Brec Bassinger’s Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl, the pictures offer fresh glimpses of the new Justice Society of America. There’s the second Hourman, Rick Tyler, as played by Cameron Gellman. He’s easily a dead ringer for his comic book counterpart. We also see Beth Chapel/Doctor Mid-Night (Anjelika Washington), one of Courtney’s friends who inherits her superheroic mantle from original J.S.A. member Charles McNider. Beth isn’t the only one with big shoes to fill. Yolanda Martez (Yvette Monreal) is also stepping in for Ted Crant as the latest hero to don the Wildcat costume. Finally, there’s a new look at Pat Dugan’s S.T.R.I.P.E. armor, which was created using a mix of practical effects and CGI.

Additionally, two key members of the Injustice Society appear in this latest set of images. Icicle (Neil Jackson) and Brainwave (Christopher James Baker) are each treated to their own character portraits. Unfortunately, there aren’t any new shots of Tigress, Sportsmaster, or Dragon King.

Stargirl hits DC Universe on Monday, May 18 and will debut on The CW on Tuesday, May 19.
