Bad Guys Break Good in The CW’s New Stargirl Season 3 Trailer

Bad Guys Break Good in The CW’s New Stargirl Season 3 Trailer

It may not share an Earth with the primary Arrowverse, but Stargirl is one of The CW’s last DC shows standing. And the long-awaited third season is right around the corner. With more than a month to go until Courtney Whitmore’s star-spangled alter-ego returns to the airwaves, The CW has dropped another promo for the new episodes, which shows a handful of former villains trying to turn over a new leaf.

Season 2 memorably ended with the Crocks (led by Larry/Sportsmaster) moving next door to Courtney’s family. But in season 3, they won’t just have to adjust to their new suburban lifestyle. They must also convince everyone around them that they no longer share the Injustice Society’s criminal ideals. Luckily, Courtney remains optimistic, and she believes they can use their powers to do more good in the world than bad.

Unfortunately, not everyone’s as forgiving as Courtney is. Courtney’s predecessor, Sylvester Pemberton/Starman (Joel McHale), has a bigger role this season as he makes good on his promise to teach Courtney some new tricks with the Cosmic Staff. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Sylvester doesn’t love the idea having to share Blue Valley with the same villains who killed his friends in the Justice Society. But the friction between Starman and his old partner, Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson), seems to reach a boiling point when he squares off against Pat’s S.T.R.I.P.E. robot in mid-air.

Stargirl season 3 will premiere on Wednesday, August 31 at 8pm on The CW.
