A new rumor claims additional scenes featuring Superman have been added to Supergirl following recent test screenings. Insider @MyTimeToShineHello stated, “More scenes with Superman were added to Supergirl. Now he also facetime her and shows up at the end of the movie.” Another insider, @Cryptic4KQual, supported this by noting the film “now has a slightly different ending.”
Reports indicate that DC Studios implemented these changes after conducting another round of test screenings while continuing to refine the film ahead of its scheduled theatrical release. The studio had already planned limited appearances for David Corenswet’s Superman, but the updated version reportedly expands his presence. The new ending reportedly includes a cameo that may connect directly to future DCU projects.
The adjustments aim to establish narrative continuity leading into the upcoming Man of Tomorrow film. The revised ending could set up larger story developments, potentially involving threats like Brainiac. Milly Alcock is expected to reprise her role as Kara Zor-El in future appearances tied to this storyline.
Craig Gillespie directs Supergirl, while Ana Nogueira wrote the screenplay, positioning the film as a key entry in DC Studios’ rebooted universe. The film introduces characters such as Lobo and features a cast including Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa. It follows Kara Zor-El as she faces “an unexpected and ruthless adversary” and embarks on an interstellar journey.
Test screening audiences responded positively overall but did not view the film as outstanding, while also praising Alcock’s performance. DC Studios will release Supergirl in theaters on June 26, 2026, as part of the developing DCU slate.
