After teasing fans yesterday with two-to five-second clips, Sony has released the first full trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The fandom has already picked it apart, and they believe that the trailer has cleverly hidden two major Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes.
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer serves as a reintroduction for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. He’s broken, depressed, and undergoing a strange mutation with his powers, the latter of which leads him to reach out to Mark Ruffalo’s Dr. Bruce Banner for help.
The trailer shows Banner back in human form, with Smart Hulk contained in the Hulk Inhibitor Device that he wears on his wrist. That device seems destined to malfunction in Brand New Day, though, as leaked plot details for the MCU movie have teased a fight scene between Spider-Man and the original, angry version of the Hulk.
Which MCU heroes do Spider-Man fans think Marvel is hiding in the Brand New Day trailer?
Now, fans on X are claiming that the Brand New Day trailer has revealed part of the Spider-Man vs. Hulk fight, with the clip of Spider-Man seemingly being slingshotted by his webs actually him trying to hold back the Hulk, only for the Green Goliath to jump, pulling Spidey with him.
The other hidden MCU hero is believed to be Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. The trailer ends with a shot of Spider-Man jumping through the air towards several members of the Hand. Scooper MAJESTIC_ucm shared on X that the trailer has removed a hero from the shot, something that Sony and Marvel previously did with the No Way Home trailers to hide Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s involvement.
While MAJESTIC_ucm doesn’t seem to know the identity of the removed hero, the scooper predicted that it would be Daredevil, who has been rumored for some time to appear in Brand New Day, given that both he and Spider-Man are based in New York City. Many fans commented under the scooper’s post in agreement that Daredevil seemed the most likely to appear, especially since he previously fought the Hand in the MCU.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks Holland’s seventh appearance in the MCU as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Destin Daniel Cretton directed the sequel from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
