Amazon Prime Video recently dropped the official trailer for The Boys Season 5, providing another glimpse at the final season of the violent satirical superhero show after the teaser release.
While the footage contained several jaw-dropping reveals, like Kimiko finally speaking, one shot stood out to fans. It showed Homelander sitting in the Oval Office, presenting himself as the President, a recreation of an important image from the comics.
Fans react to ‘President Homelander’ in The Boys Season 5 trailer
Amazon Prime Video and Sony Pictures Television recently dropped the official trailer for The Boys Season 5, giving a brief preview of the final season. One of the last shots of the footage shows Homelander sitting in the Oval Office and smiling, reflecting his success at having gained total control over the United States, and, by extension, the rest of the world.
This is further emphasized by his voiceover in the trailer, where he asserts that his power is “absolute” and is “at heights no one’s even dreamed of.” It is also stressed by his goal of preparing America for his “ascension.”
Fans reacted positively to the shot. Here’s what they had to say:
The Boys Season 5, consisting of six episodes, will premiere its first two on Prime Video on April 8, 2026. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly until May 20.
Fans can expect a lot of deaths this season, according to series star and Billy Butcher actor Karl Urban. He told Variety that “nobody is safe” from the premiere episode onwards.
The official synopsis reads, “It’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp’. Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found” (via Deadline).
It continues, “But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.”
Eric Kripke created The Boys; he is also the showrunner. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Television co-produced the series with Kripke via his Kripke Enterprises banner and Amazon MGM Studios.
