Spider-Man: Brand New Day Will Feature [Spoiler] Dying — Report

Marvel fans who believed there was no character death the Spider-Man movies could include that would be bigger than Aunt May’s in No Way Home are in for a shock.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day features a star-studded cast of Marvel Cinematic Universe regulars. Tom Holland is returning as Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the seventh time, while Mark Ruffalo will be making his eleventh appearance as Bruce Banner/Hulk. The ensemble also includes Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/Punisher, Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Zendaya’s MJ, and Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds.

With No Way Home showing that Marvel Studios and Sony aren’t afraid of killing off a major MCU character, any one of those characters could be at risk of biting the dust in Brand New Day. However, few fans would have thought that the title hero himself would be marked for death.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature a major MCU death

Trusted scooper Alex Perez of the Cosmic Circus just hinted on X that Holland’s Peter Parker will be killed off in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Responding to a fan who questioned whether Disney could kill off Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday, since he’s a Sony property.

Perez initially replied, “They’ve killed Tom Holland twice so.” The scooper then corrected his comment to “I mean… once.” Peter Parker was part of the half that was dusted by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, with the superhero returning to life five years later in Avengers: Endgame.

Many fans have already theorized that Peter Parker’s rumored death in Brand New Day may be linked to the introduction of the symbiote in the MCU. With Avengers: Secret Wars in the works, many believe that Holland’s Peter Parker will receive the black costume that his comics counterpart donned in the 1980s Secret Wars miniseries.

A piece of the Venom symbiote was left on Earth-616 at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, after Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom was transported by Doctor Strange to the MCU. If Holland’s Peter Parker is killed off in Brand New Day, perhaps the symbiote will be used to resurrect him in Avengers: Secret Wars.

As always, fans should take the aforementioned with a grain of salt, as scoopers are never 100% accurate. All will eventually be revealed when Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31, 2026.
