The status of Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man spin-off movies has become a little clearer, thanks to a new report from an insider.
What is the status of Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off movies?
According to a new report from Daniel Richtman (also known as DanielRPK), Sony has put a hold on every live-action spin-off project. This includes a project that was in the works and centered around Knull, the character introduced in the third Venom movie.
While Sony has not confirmed or denied the report, this new information could mean the end of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe after just six movies. The universe was largely comprised of Tom Hardy’s Venom movies, but also included 2022’s Morbius, 2024’s Madame Web, and 2024’s Kraven the Hunter.

Other films were planned for the universe over the course of several years, including an El Muerto movie starring Bad Bunny, a movie based on the Agent Venom character, a Spider-Woman movie, and more. However, those were all canceled, and following the commercial failures of movies like Madame Web and Kraven, it seems like Sony is ready to move on.
