Spider-Man 4 Rumor Reveals Hulk’s Role in Brand New Day

A brand new Spider-Man 4 rumor has surfaced online, teasing the possible return of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Both Ruffalo and Tom Holland are currently not part of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie.

Will Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk appear in Spider-Man 4?

In a new report, Marvel Studios has reportedly tapped Ruffalo to star opposite Holland in the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. The rumor also claimed that the Oscar-nominated actor’s appearance would be bigger than a cameo role. Should Ruffalo’s casting be true, this would mark the Hulk’s big screen comeback after 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Fans had last seen Ruffalo playing the titular hero in a few episodes of 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will be once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced new cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear). The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Avi Arad, and Louis D’Esposito.

At the moment, Spider-Man 4 is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026, pitting it against no direct competition at the box office. However, it will still be debuting in the same month as other high-profile movies like the live-action Moana and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey movie.
