New rumors for Marvel Studios and Sony’s Spider-Man 4 have emerged online.
The fourth MCU Spider-Man movie is currently scheduled to be released in July 2026, putting it right between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker in the movie.
Official plot details for Spider-Man 4 remain under wraps at this time; however, there’s been no shortage of online rumors suggesting what the future might have in store for Marvel’s Web-Head.
What do the latest Spider-Man 4 rumors suggest?
Insider Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus was asked if he knew anything about who the main antagonist of Spider-Man 4 would be.
Perez responded, “I have heard many conflicting things, first Knull, then Mephisto, now Doom, and ring around the rosie we go, which is why I’d rather remain quiet. What I can say is, I don’t expect the villain to be someone ‘street-level.’”
When asked if Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom will return in Spidey’s next solo movie, Perez said, “Last I heard, they were planning on bringing in Eddie for Spider-Man 4, but we’ll see if that’s the case.”
These are just rumors at this time, as nothing has been confirmed by Marvel Studios.
It is known that the next Spider-Man movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously made Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was released in 2021, for Marvel Studios. There are also rumors that Holland’s film will serve as a sequel to Avengers: Doomsday and directly play off the events of that film; however, these are also just rumors. How the ending to Spider-Man: No Way Home factors into the story remains to be seen.
Spider-Man 4 will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026.
