Natalie Portman Reveals If She Would Return to Star Wars as Padmé Amidala

Iconic actress Natalie Portman has revealed if she would be interested in returning to the Star Wars franchise as Padmé Amidala.

Would Natalie Portman return to the Star Wars franchise?

While answering questions online for a GQ video, Portman came across a question asking if her and her character of Padmé would return to Star Wars in the future. The actress said that though she hasn’t heard anything about being brought back into the series, she’s “open to it.”

“I have no information on this,” Portman stated. “No one’s ever asked me to return, but I’m open to it.”

Throughout the video, which you can view below, Portman also discussed the character’s costume inspirations and mentioned that she took one of Anakin’s braids from Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, though she later lost the braid.

Natalie Portman played Padmé Amidala in all three of the Star Wars prequels. Padmé first appears in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and is introduced as the queen of Naboo. Throughout the prequels, she goes on to become a dedicated senator that fights for liberty in the galaxy while also secretly being married to Jedi knight Anakin Skywalker. The character would also appear frequently in the animated series The Clone Wars, where she was voiced by Catherine Taber.
