Exclusive Preview: Uncanny X-Men #20

If these are the end times for mutants than one person is responsible above all others: Emma Frost. As revealed in recent issues of Uncanny X-Men, the new mutant vaccine fell into the hands of the government because Emma made a deal for her own safety. Emma protected herself and her new Hellfire Club, including Mystique and Marrow, while sacrificing other mutants. Emma may have a long game plan in mind, but the damage has already been done. The vaccine was widely distributed, and an entire generation of mutants may never manifest their powers.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Uncanny X-Men #20, Matthew Rosenberg and artist Salvador Larroca establish that the mutant vaccine isn’t as effective as we were led to believe. That may lead to some very deadly consequences for the people who tried to suppress their true nature. Meanwhile, the X-Men come face-to-face with enemies who haven’t appeared together since the ’90s. In fact, one of them was last seen in the Ultraverse. But we can pretty much guarantee that the character in question won’t bring up the history that she shares with Juggernaut.

Here’s the official description from Marvel: “The mutant race faces elimination at the hands of a vaccine erasing the X-Gene from future generations…”
