Spider-Man 4 has won praise from none other than Frank Miller. The legendary comic book writer and artist shared his thoughts on Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He feels it’s the closest the character has come to his original comic book roots.
Miller is best known for his work on Daredevil and Batman. After watching the movie, he praised Tom Holland’s performance and the film’s comic book inspiration. In his latest Instagram post, Miller praised the fourth Spider-Man film and wrote in the caption, “The most Ditko movie yet and with my Hand in it for all to celebrate.” The Hand is the ninja organization Miller created during his acclaimed Daredevil run. It appears as one of the villain groups in the movie.
Miller further wrote, “This fan’s dream come true. Tom Holland is my forever Spider-Man as romantic as he is heroic. Congratulations to Destin and the whole team.”
His comments echo much of the film’s early critical reception. Critics have complimented Spider-Man: Brand New Day for returning Peter Parker to the grounded storytelling of Steve Ditko’s original Spider-Man comics.

Frank Miller is one of the greatest comic artists. He wrote acclaimed Daredevil stories such as Born Again and The Man Without Fear. Miller also created other classic comics like The Dark Knight Returns and Sin City.
