Masters of the Universe is now in theaters nationwide. The live-action adaptation of Mattel’s media franchise stars Nicholas Galitzine as Adam Glenn/He-Man, who must embrace his destiny and save his planet from the villainous Skeletor. If you’ve already seen Masters of the Universe or you’re looking for other adventures like it, here are three more movies that every He-Man fan should see.

Movies to watch if you liked Masters of the Universe

Thor

If you enjoy muscular blondes wielding weapons, then Thor should be right up your alley. Thor and He-Man have several things in common. Both heroes come from royalty and are strong men who wield powerful objects — Thor has the hammer Mjolnir, and He-Man wields the Power Sword. Additionally, Thor and He-Man find themselves protecting their home worlds while acclimating to Earth.

Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, first made his MCU debut in the 2011 film. The son of Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and heir to the throne of Asgard is banished to Earth and stripped of his powers after reigniting a war. With the help of his new allies on Earth, Thor must prove himself worthy of the throne and stop his brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), from ruling Asgard.

Thor is now streaming on Disney+.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Masters of the Universe is a nostalgic play for kids who grew up loving the characters in the 1980s. Sticking with nostalgia, the same principles can be applied to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which is based on the tabletop role-playing game that originated in the 1970s.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is an adventure comedy about a ragtag group that embarks on a quest to steal an ancient relic with the power to resurrect the dead. The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is streaming on Paramount+.

Transformers

If you grew up with He-Man in the 1980s, then you’ve probably heard of Transformers, the line of toys that could transform into vehicles and animals. Like Masters of the Universe, Transformers had both a toy line and a memorable animated series. However, it took over 30 years for Transformers to get the live-action treatment.

In 2007, Transformers finally made its live-action debut, with Michael Bay directing and Steven Spielberg executive producing. The movie depicts the battle between the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the villainous Decepticons, led by Megatron. Caught in the middle is Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), who holds the key to finding the powerful AllSpark, which could help win the war in favor of the Autobots.

Transformers is streaming on Hulu and Paramount+.
