Some new details about the upcoming Supergirl movie have been revealed in a new report.
DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Supergirl arrives in 2026. The DCU movie is being directed by Craig Gillespie and stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, while the cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll.
The film is based on the DC Comics limited series of the same name by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The story revolves around Kara traveling to a planet far away to celebrate her 21st birthday; however, things turn sideways when a girl named Ruthye, who is on a quest for revenge against Krem of the Yellow Hills.
It has also been confirmed that Jason Momoa will play Lobo in Supergirl; although, how much Lobo will factor into the story is unclear at this time, as the character does not show up in the comics series.
What is the new update on Supergirl?
According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Ruthye will be “dressed in a green coat with a fur-lined hood, black pants, and brown boots” in Supergirl. She will also have a sword.
Lobo, meanwhile, is reportedly “very comic accurate,” while Krem of the Yellow Hills will have a “more monstrous look than in the comics.” The tidbit about Krem lines up with what scooper Daniel Richtman has reported in the past, as he said that the character will look “more like a monster” and that he’ll be seen carrying around dead alien rats to eat.
This should be treated just as a rumor at this time, as there’s been no formal announcement about the matter from DC Studios or Warner Bros. Pictures of yet.
Also starring David Krumholtz as Zor-El and Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Supergirl will be released in United States theaters on June 26, 2026.
