DC Studios Drops Its Newest Superman Movie on Digital Today

The latest Superman movie in the DC Universe, which features House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock in her first solo outing as the titular heroine, is out today.

Supergirl follows Kara Zor-El as she faces a personal threat that forces her to leave behind her familiar world and embark on an interstellar journey. After a ruthless enemy strikes close to home, she reluctantly teams up with young Ruthye on a mission for vengeance and justice. This leads them toward a confrontation with the dangerous Krem of the Yellow Hills.

Alongside Alcock, the film features Jason Momoa as the bounty hunter Lobo, Mathias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye. The cast also includes David Krumholtz and Emily Beechum as Kara’s parents, Zor-El and Alura, while David Corenswet appears as Superman.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, with a screenplay by Ana Nogueria, Supergirl is produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The film adapts Tom King’s comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, bringing a new interpretation of Kara Zor-El’s story to the big screen.

Following its theatrical release, Supergirl has drawn varied reactions from viewers and critics. The film currently holds a 6.0/10 rating on IMDb, along with scores of 53% on Rotten Tomatoes and 49/100 on Metacritic.
