Andrew Garfield Strongly Denies the Spider-Man: No Way Home Rumors

Ever since Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina signed on for Spider-Man: No Way Home, rumors have suggested that the previous cinematic Spider-Men, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, would join Tom Holland’s Spidey. However, Holland has denied those reports in recent months. Now, Garfield has addressed the rumors as well. Via The Hollywood Reporter, Garfield strongly denied his return during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

“I can’t speak for anything else, but for myself. They might be doing something, but I ain’t got a call,” said Garfield. “I see how often Spider-Man is trending and it’s like people freaking out,” said Garfield. “And I’m just like, ‘guys, guys, guys’ — I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say, ‘I recommend that you chill.’”

Garfield also equated the experience to playing a game of Werewolf. No matter how many times he denies being in the movie, no one believes him.

“Listen, I would’ve gotten a call by now,” added Garfield. “That’s all I’m saying. I don’t want to ruin anything [potentially happening] … maybe they’re going to call me and say, ‘Hey people want this.’ Maybe they’re doing some market research.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters on December 17.
