Lucasfilm Releases Extended Look at Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge

This year, the only way fans can visit the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu is playing Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge. Lucasfilm’s ILMxLAB studio has released a video from the upcoming Star Wars VR experience, which promises to immerse fans in the Galaxy’s Edge world. Among the most important details revealed in the video: fans play as a droid repair technician who has to run from the Guavian Death Gang, the same seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The video also presents some of the actors who voiced the main protagonists of the story. Like Debra Wilson, who will dub Tara Rashin. Tara is the leader of one of the gang’s cells, which is pursuing the protagonist. Bobby Moynihan from Saturday Night Live is bartender Seezelslak. This six-eyed bartender likes to tell Star Wars stories to customers in his cantina. Each of Seezelslak’s tales will take players to a different part of the timeline, where the odds of meeting some familiar faces are really high.

The brand new story will take place between the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The official synopsis reads:

“In Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll play as a droid repair technician who crash lands on Batuu after a pirate attack. In typical Star Wars fashion, you’ll quickly get swept up into a grand adventure on the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost. You can converse with Seezelslak (Bobby Moynihan) in his cantina and be transported to other places and times in the Star Wars galaxy through his legendary tales. Or, you can receive important missions to complete in the wilds of Batuu, encountering new and iconic characters along the way, like the pirate Tara Rashin (Debra Wilson).”

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge has no official release date yet, but it will come later this year.
