Josh Boone Says The New Mutants Will Retain His Vision of the Film

After months of silence for The New Mutants, a new trailer is set to arrive next week. But for those worried that the film was compromised by its delays and new Disney overlords, director Josh Boone has some encouraging news.

Via SlashFilm, Josh Boone recently replied on his Instagram post to a fan’s inquiry: “Will this be the OG version of the movie you shot?”

“I wouldn’t be promoting it here if it wasn’t,” said Boone in response.

The New Mutants has been delayed multiple times. It was also initially going to hit theaters in April 2018, before eventually seeing a delay to January 2019. It pushed back again to August 2 2019, and then to April 3, 2020.

There has also been a lot of speculation as to whether the film would ever be released. Even one of its stars, Maisie Williams, didn’t have any indication when it would arrive. But with the new trailer finally arriving on January 6, it appears that Disney won’t push it back again.

Along with Williams, The New Mutants features Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga and Alice Braga. It also features a script co-written by Boone and Knate Lee that is based on the classic The Demon Bear Saga story.
