Peter Parker and Logan don’t get along well at the best of times. The amazing Spider-Man‘s humor grates on Wolverine‘s nerves and Peter has issues with Logan killing. Despite this, they’ve managed to put aside their differences for the common good. However, that may be a thing of the past, given a revelation regarding Logan’s connection to the death of Peter’s parents.

Written by Marc Guggenheim, with art by Kaare Andrews, Spider-Man & Wolverine #1 finds the uneasy allies on a new adventure. Logan learns of a master list of every spy in the world, known as the Janus Directory. Long thought to be a legend, he is informed that the list is real and SHIELD stumbled across it before it was dissolved. This leads Logan to recruit Peter Parker to help him hack the SHIELD databases.

The two face resistance, with their enemies Omega Red and Kraven the Hunter seeking the Janus Directory as well. They also must contend with the illusions of Mysterio. However, the troubles for Spider-Man do not truly begin until he hacks into the Janus Directory.
Spider-Man and Wolverine suggests Logan killed Peter’s parents
While going through the files contained in the Janus Directory, Peter finds entries regarding his parents. This does not surprise him, as he knew that Richard and Mary Parker were both American spies who died in the line of duty. However, he is stunned to find a video that seems to show their deaths. Worse, that Logan was apparently responsible for crashing the plane on which they died.

The first issue of Spider-Man & Wolverine ends with Peter going into a berserker rage more characteristic of Logan. As intense as this cliffhanger is, however, it seems highly unlikely that Logan truly killed Peter Parker’s parents. If nothing else, the presence of Mysterio and Kraven, whom both use mind-altering drugs on their enemies, makes this revelation suspect.
