No Mary Jane for the Spider-Man Reboot?

A look at the alleged female lead shortlist

The Spider-Man reboot is looking for its female lead and Heat Vision claims to have the shortlist of actresses who have met for the part.

The articles also states that the character of Mary Jane Watson will not be the film's love interest, leading to speculation that the storyline will add either Gwen Stacy, Felicia Hardy (the Black Cat), another of Peter Parker's past loves or may feature an all-new character created especially for the film.

Heat Vision's list includes the following (from left to right):



Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Priest), Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy), Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later, the upcoming remake of Fright Night), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer's Apprentice, I Am Number Four) and Emma Roberts (Hotel for Dogs, Valentine's Day).

Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the upcoming The Thing prequel) is listed as having just been dropped from the running.

good,seriously Gwen Stacy was his real true love so goin this way makes me feel relieved.If anything Id say go for Imogen,shes really cute and doesnt have much under belt,this could be the movie to break her out.

Gwen Stacy is definitely the way to go. Then they can build to the MJ character. It would be great to see his true love lost on film. This will create the type of drama and angst the story lines needs. Peter Parker is just as, if not more important, than Spider-Man. I like this direction.

I like this. Start out with Gwen Stacy in part 1, introduce MJ in part 2, kill Gwen and hook up Pete & MJ in part 3.

Who ever that last chick on the right is...I vote for her.

Other than that...god not another reboot...let me guess...Peter Parker gets bit by a radioactive spider then takes half the movie to figure out who he is and asks why this happen to him only to learn the true meaning of his gift just in time to save the ones he loves and become the hero he always wanted to be inside...or something.

They better bring gwen stacy and drop her off the bridge by green goblin, that is one of the most important drama peter has to go trough after his uncle ben. MJ can come later.
