Liam Hemsworth, Dacre Montgomery up for The Sandman’s Corinthian

Netflix is currently working hard behind the scene to find the cast for the upcoming The Sandman series. A few hours after someone reported that the streaming service might have found the right person to play the titular character, word comes in of possible villain casting. According to a recent report by /Film, Netflix is currently considering both Liam Hemsworth and Dacre Montgomery to portray The Corinthian in the upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s comic book series. Hemsworth is best known for his role as Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games dystopic trilogy, while Montgomery played Billy Hargrove in Stranger Things Season 2 and 3.

In the comics, The Corinthian always wears sunglasses to hide the rows of small teeth line that line his empty eye sockets. He made his debut in The Sandman #10 back in October 1989 as one of the nightmares Dream created to help him. The Corinthian soon rebels against his creator and goes rogue. He then starts possessing human beings and consuming their eyes. As punishment for his rebellion, Dream confronts him and destroys him, before making some improvements. The second incarnation of the Corinthian is a fearless hand-to-hand fighter.

Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for the series.
