During his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, actor Liam Hemsworth opened up about stepping into the role of Geralt of Rivia for The Witcher’s fourth season. Fallon began by congratulating Hemsworth on joining the acclaimed Netflix fantasy series, noting that he would lead the series for the next two seasons. The host then asked about Hemsworth’s reaction upon receiving the offer.

Hemsworth explained that the call came quite unexpectedly while he was filming Land of Bad in Australia at the end of 2023. “I got a call from my agent sort of out of nowhere,” he recalled, adding that the offer was to take over the role previously played by Henry Cavill. Cavill had portrayed Geralt for the first three seasons, earning widespread praise for his performance.

Hemsworth expressed deep respect and admiration for Cavill, saying, “And Henry Cavill had done three seasons at that point, and I’m a huge fan of his, and I’m a huge fan of what he did with that character. They asked if I’d want to come and do the last two seasons.” The actor added that he had played The Witcher video games years earlier and was thrilled by the idea of joining the series.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Hemsworth noted, “And I was really excited about the idea of coming on board.” Fallon later surprised the audience with an image of Hemsworth as Geralt, which drew a round of applause from the crowd.
