With secrets gradually unfolding in the ongoing Gen V Season 2, many fans have started to question if the blood-bending Marie Moreau actually has the potential to beat Homelander. In a recent discussion, the stars of The Boys spin-off, including Jaz Sinclair, who plays Marie, shared their views on the comparison, providing a conclusive answer to the question of which of the two superheroes is more powerful.
Jaz Sinclair thinks Marie Moreau can take on Homelander from The Boys
While speaking to MovieWeb, Jaz Sinclair did not shy away from backing her Gen V character in a potential match-up against Antony Starr’s Homelander.
When questioned about whether Marie can take on the maniacal leader of The Seven, she simply replied, “I think she can.”
In a separate interview with ComicBook, Sinclair was asked who she thought was more powerful between Marie and Homelander. While contemplating her answer, Sinclair gave a look to her Gen V co-star London Thor, who instantly replied, “Marie is.” Sinclair then reiterated Thor’s choice by saying, “I think so, because of the blood stuff.”
Derek Luh, who plays Jordan Li along with Thor on the series, then explained how Marie can overpower the Boys’ toughest adversary, stating, “I mean, you can control his inside…He’s still a human at the end of the day that took [Compound] V.”
Chris Killian of ComicBook then asked if this is how Marie would ultimately take out Homelander in the final season of The Boys, but only managed to extract a sly smile from his interviewees, with Sinclair cheekily replying, “You wish.”
Notably, Gen V Season 2 has introduced fans to a mysterious operation, titled the Odessa project, which not only dates back to the 1960s but also involves Jaz Sinclair’s Marie as a centerpiece. As such, many fans have theorized that this project could revolve around neutralizing an entity like Homelander, with Marie and her unique powers somehow being at the heart of the plan.
While Gen V’s stars seem to think that Marie is more than capable of taking on Homelander, an on-screen battle between the two in the upcoming episodes of Gen V Season 2 or The Boys Season 5 should provide fans with a definitive answer.
