The Mandalorian Casts Twilight’s Julia Jones
It seems that a spaceship is ready to take Julia Jones from the rainy forests of Forks to a far, far away galaxy. According to a report by Deadline, Jones has joined the cast of The Mandalorian, the upcoming Star Wars series which will debut later this year. Details about the character Jones is playing are still under wraps.
Prior to this, Jones has portrayed Leah Clearwater, the only female werewolf in three installments of The Twilight Saga. She also worked on HBO’s Westworld as Kohana, a recurring character in the second season of the show.
Jones joins a cast that sees Pedro Pascal portraying the Boba Fett-like title character. Pascal will team up with Gina Carano and Carl Weathers. Carano plays Cara Dune, a former Rebel Shock Trooper having trouble re-integrating herself into society. Weathers portrays a man who heads a guild of bounty hunters that hires the Mandalorian for a specific job. Moreover, the cast features Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte.
Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson executive produce the show. Karen Gilchrist serves as co-executive producer.
The upcoming Star Wars series is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ when the service launches on November 12. Do you like the recent casting of Julia Jones in The Mandalorian? Let us know your thoughts about it in the comments section below.
