Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s script left Tom Holland hilariously confused. The fourth installment of the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise just premiered in Los Angeles.
As the reviews continue to roll in, the movie’s story is being praised significantly. Surprisingly, the film’s lead character got to know about the script only after everybody else finished reading it. Tom Holland recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers. While discussing the funny stories behind the movie’s making, Holland pointed out he had repeatedly asked the studio to give him the script. But the 30-year-old actor was told that the script was not finalized.
However, a conversation with his brother, Paddy Holland, left the Spider-Man star shocked and confused. Holland said, “And my brother, Paddy, worked on the film in the art department, and he called me up one day, and he was like, ‘Bro, the script is so good.’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about, the script is so good?’ And he goes, ‘I’ve just sat in the studio. Everyone’s read the script. Everyone loves it.’ And I’d been told that there wasn’t even a script at this point.”

The 30-year-old actor then expressed his honest opinions about the movie. He pointed out what exactly stood out in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Holland highlighted how the majority of the storyline revolves around Peter Parker and explores how he copes with loneliness.
The actor stated, “What they’ve done so well, I think, with this film, is they’ve really found a way to make the film about Peter Parker. The mystery of who the villain is really kind of brings this new flavor to the film, and I’m so proud of everyone that’s involved.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the aftermath of No Way Home, at the end of which everyone has forgotten the web-slinger’s real identity. There has also been a lot of speculation about who the main villain of the movie would be. While Scorpion and Punisher were shown in the trailers, fans speculated that Sadie Sink’s character might have a greater significance.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be available in theatres from July 31, 2026.
