Fans are not happy with the Spider-Man: Brand New Day post-credits scene. The upcoming MCU film’s plot has been shrouded in secrecy throughout its marketing. Following the film’s premiere, it seems some of its secrets, such as the post-credits scene, may end up disappointing viewers.
With many critics and some fans having seen the film, word about its post-credits scene is getting around the internet. Early reviews have confirmed one thing: there is only one post-credits scene, and it teases Marvel’s immediate future. Details of the post-credits scene reportedly leaked earlier this month, and it appears they were true.
Early fan reactions to Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s ending stinger
Film critic Peter Howell praised the film, but criticised whatever happens after the credits roll. “The only misstep is the bloated 145-minute running time, which includes a pointless post-credits scene,” wrote Howell.
Film scooper and insider DanielRPK said that the film contains only one post-credits scene at the very end, adding “it’s just not worth waiting for but to each their own.”
Esquire’s Eric Francisco said that the post-credits scene was not memorable, and that they “memory holed it barely hours later.”
Polygon’s Brian Vanhooker also confirmed that the scene appears at the very end. The writer ranked the scene between “completely useless” and “epic game-changer.” Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter’s review also included spoiler-filled details of the scene, with critic David Rooney calling it “cute.”
Marvel Studios’ next release will be Avengers: Doomsday, though Spider-Man has not been confirmed to be in it. Most recently, Tom Holland teased the arrival of Venom in a future Spider-Man movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in theaters on July 31, 2026. At the time of writing, the film is sitting at an 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes with 107 reviews.
