Following the official casting of Babyteeth star Toby Wallace, Netflix has finally found the next lead star for its upcoming live-action TV adaptation of the popular video game series Assassin’s Creed. Filming is expected to take place in Italy sometime in 2026.
Who is joining Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed cast?
According to Deadline, Irish actor Lola Petticrew has been enlisted as a series regular opposite Wallace in the live-action Assassin’s Creed series. Further details about their characters are still under wraps. This marks Petticrew’s first high-profile project after previously starring in independent movies like Dating Amber, She Said, and Tuesday. They also played main roles in shows like BBC One’s Bloodlands, FX’s Say Nothing, and Channel 4’s Trespasses.
“The story is centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, the other fighting to preserve free will. The series will follow its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny,” reads the official synopsis.
The Assassin’s Creed show will be executive-produced by showrunners Roberto Patino and David Wiener, based on Ubisoft’s best-selling video game series. Executive producers are Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, and Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television and Matt O’Toole.
Since its debut in 2007, the video game franchise has sold more than 230 million units worldwide. This won’t be the first time Assassin’s Creed has received a live-action adaptation, as Sony Pictures previously adapted it for the big screen in 2016 with Michael Fassbender leading the cast.
