After working together in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, it looks like Pom Klementieff is now joining James Gunn‘s growing DC Universe as the leading star of an untitled TV show. However, this won’t be the first time that Klementieff will be appearing in a DC project, as she previously had a non-speaking cameo role in 2021’s The Suicide Squad.
Who will Pom Klementieff play in the new DCU TV show?
According to a new report, Klementieff has reportedly been tapped to play a new live-action version of Helena Bertinelli/Huntress, a character formerly played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead in 2020’s Birds of Prey. The fan-favorite hero was created by Joey Cavalieri and Joe Staton in the DC Comics series Huntress, which was first published in 1989.
DC Studios reportedly can’t announced her casting yet because there hasn’t been a formal deal in place yet. Some fans suspect that Klementieff’s Huntress might appear in Peacemaker Season 2, after she was previously spotted on a set visit with Gunn. The report also claimed that the new DC TV show will center around a half-Korean and half-Italian Helena Bertinelli. It has also been rumored that South Korean filmmaker Jung Byung-gil is involved in the project as its writer and director. Jung is best known for his acclaimed work on the action thriller movie The Villainess.
Klementieff most recently starred in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, in which she reprised her role as French assassin Paris from Dead Reckoning. She is also part of the upcoming Superman cast as the voice of one of the Superman robots.
