An intriguing Spider-Man 4 rumor about Hulk and The Punisher’s potential role has been revealed, ahead of the impending production start of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ next Tom Holland-led movie. This comes after it was recently reported that Avengers vet Mark Ruffalo might be reprising Bruce Banner/Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
What is Hulk & Punisher’s potential role in Spider-Man 4?
According to Marvel insider DanielRPK, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will reportedly feature a team-up between Holland’s Spider-Man and Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher. The report claims that the unlikely duo would be going up against Savage Hulk. In the comics, Savage Hulk is described as Hulk’s aggressive and deadly alter-ego. At the moment, Ruffalo’s casting has yet to be confirmed by the studio or by any major outlets.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The movie will once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel. They will be joined by recently announced new cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear). The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Avi Arad, and Louis D’Esposito.
The movie is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026, pitting it against no direct competition at the box office. However, it will still be debuting in the same month as other high-profile movies like the live-action Moana and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey movie.
