What are fans saying about The Running Man trailer?
The first trailer for The Running Man has fans split over whether or not Powell is worthy of replacing Schwarzenegger in the film. While Powell has made a name for himself by starring in projects like 2023’s Hit Man and 2024’s Twisters, some aren’t convinced he’s up to the task.
Others, however, are approaching the new Running Man movie with optimism and are excited to see what Powell does in the role.
The synopsis for Wright’s The Running Man reads, “In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward. Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall.”
The Running Man hits United States theaters on November 7, 2025, from Paramount Pictures. The 1987 version of The Running Man is currently streaming on Paramount+.
