Midnight Sons Rumor Reveals New MCU Character Will Lead Group

Marvel Studios has reportedly chosen the fan-favorite character who will be leading its long-rumored Midnight Sons movie. This comes after it was previously reported that development on the project is “moving again,” after it was temporarily halted by the studio.

Who will potentially lead the MCU’s Midnight Sons?

Despite the popular fan theory that Blade will become the leader of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Midnight Sons team, insider Daniel Richtman claimed that Marvel Studios reportedly has big plans for Ghost Rider’s MCU debut, including making him the supernatural superhero team’s official leader. The character was originally played by Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage in Sony Pictures’ live-action Ghost Rider movies. At the moment, the project has no cast, director, or release date attached to it.

In a previous interview, Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling expressed his desire to join the MCU, revealing that playing the Ghost Rider was his dream role. Because of this, he became one of the popular fan castings for the MCU’s Spirit of Vengeance. Recently, a variant of the character had already appeared in the series finale of the Disney+ animated series What If…? for a non-speaking appearance.

The project will be based on the Marvel Comics series created by Howard Mackie, Andy Kubert, and Bobby Chase in 1993. It centered around a team of supernatural heroes consisting of Ghost Rider, Blade, Moon Knight, Elsa Bloodstone, Doctor Strange, and more. Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe started its Multiversal saga, Marvel Studios has begun exploring the horror genre with the Disney+ release of Moon Knight, Werewolf By Night, and Agatha All Along. However, the studio hasn’t really made any official announcements regarding their plans on what to expect from the MCU’s supernatural side.
