Superman Rumors Clash Over DCU Movie’s Structure Change

As the anticipation for DC Studios’ first DCU movie continues, new Superman rumors have been circulating online, regarding the movie’s structure change. The movie will be led by David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

“In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind,” reads the synopsis.

After rumors about the changes made in Superman’s original episodic structure had surfaced online, another insider claimed that nothing major has really changed with the upcoming movie’s structure. According to ViewerAnon on X, the story will still reportedly take place in a single week.

The ensemble cast also includes Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teshmacher, Anthony Carrigan as Metarmorpho, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Edi Gathegi, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, and Neva Howell as Martha Kent, along with Alan Tudyk, Michael Rooker, and Grace Chan.

Superman is written and directed by James Gunn, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The movie is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther. The creative team also includes director of photography Henry Braham and composer David Fleming, along with editors William Hoy and Craig Alpert.

The film debuts in theaters on July 11, 2025.
