Star-Lord Gamora

James Gunn States Whether Gamora & Star-Lord Get Back Together in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn has confirmed whether or not Star-Lord and Gamora get back together at the end of the movie.

Do Star-Lord and Gamora get back together at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

A Twitter user stated that they and their family were arguing about whether Peter Quill and Gamora would get back together after the events of the sequel. Gunn confirmed that the ending shows Quill accepting that she wasn’t his Gamora and finally letting go, while Gamora returns to the Ravagers with an understanding of how her other self was able to fall in love with Quill. He then said that we see this Gamora “with her real family shortly thereafter,” referring to the Ravagers that took her in.

“In the film, our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days,” reads the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel’s synopsis. “Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was directed by James Gunn and was released in theaters on May 5. The sequel heavily features the backstory of Rocket — the armed and snarky raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper — and his history with the film’s villain, The High Evolutionary (played by Chukwudi Iwuji). Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now playing in theaters.
