Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Resumes Production With Letitia Wright

After taking a few months off to recover from her on-set injuries, Shuri is finally back in the saddle. According to BBC News, production on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has resumed with Letitia Wright returning to the film’s set.

Wright’s accident was first reported last August and caused by botched stunt that happened during an overnight shoot in Boston. Marvel initially characterized her injuries as “minor” and insisted that they wouldn’t affect sequel’s filming schedule. However, her condition was eventually revealed to be more severe. Later reports claimed that Wright suffered “a critical shoulder fracture and a concussion with severe side effects.” The filmmakers went on to shoot as many scenes as they could without her character. But in November, the studio announced that it was suspending production until Wright made a full recovery.

A spokesperson for Wright issued a statement to confirm her return to the set: “Filming resumed this month as planned and we’re on schedule.”

Wright’s Shuri is going to have a much bigger role than she did in the original Black Panther. Regardless, we won’t know if she’s stepping in for the late Chadwick Boseman as the new star of the franchise until Marvel begins rolling out Wakanda Forever’s marketing campaign. Until then, it’s all speculation.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11.
