Milestone Media Announces a New Animated Feature Film

Earlier this year, screenwriter Reginald Hudlin and Milestone co-founder Denys Cowan spearheaded the long-awaited relaunch of Milestone Media. However, the bigger news was saved for DC FanDome. During the livestream event, Hudlin and Cowan revealed that a Milestone animated film is in the works.

Previously, the Milestone hero, Static, had his own Static Shock animated series in the ’90s. Hudlin and Cowan declined to state which characters will appear. That said, the promo poster below features Rocket, Icon, Hardware, and Static. So they all seem like safe bets to be in the movie.

Additionally, Brandon Thomas will write the screenplay for the film. Thomas is a writer who had previous stints on Robin, Voltron, Aqualad, Future State: Aquaman, and Hardware: Season One for Milestone. His creator owned comic credits include Miranda Mercury, Horizon, and Excellence.

Hudlin and Cowan didn’t share any further details about the film. However, Warner Bros. Pictures will likely distribute the animated feature. Hudlin and Cowan also confirmed that the live-action Static film remains in development.
