Wonder Woman 1984 Gets Pushed Back To October

Even before the coronavirus pandemic, Wonder Woman 1984 had trouble hanging on to a date. The film’s original release date was December 14, 2019, before it was moved up to November 1, 2019. Subsequently, the film was pushed back to June 5, 2020. The COVID-19 shutdown led to an August 14 date. However, Warner Bros. is no longer planning to hold on to that date. Instead, Wonder Woman 1984 will now open on Friday, October 2.

Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, weighed in on the move in her Twitter account.

The new release date puts Wonder Woman 1984 on the schedule just over a month before Marvel Studio’s Black Widow; which will hit theaters on Friday, November 6.

Additionally, Warner Bros. moved Christopher Nolan’s Tenet from July 17 to Friday, July 31. A re-release of Nolan’s Inception will now be scheduled for July 17.
