Bill and Ted Face The Music Recasts Its Princesses
Next summer, Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves will reprise their respective characters, Bill and Ted, after nearly three decades. But when Bill and Ted Face the Music arrives in theaters, the guys are gonna have brand new wives.
Deadline is reporting that Jayma Mays (pictured top left) is playing Princess Joanna, the wife of Bill S. Preston, Esq. Erinn Hayes (pictured top right) will portray Ted Logan’s wife, Princess Elizabeth. Both Princesses first appeared in the original Bill and Ted, when Diane Franklin played Joanna and Kimberley LaBelle portrayed Elizabeth. In Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, Sarah Trigger replaced Franklin as Joanna, while Annette Azcuy took over as Elizabeth.
Mays is best known for her roles in Glee, Heroes, The Millers, and Trial & Error. Hayes’ previous credits include Childrens Hospital, Worst Week, Kevin Can Wait, and A.P. Bio.
Additionally, Variety is reporting that Amy Stoch is reprising her role as Bill’s stepmom, Missy. Hal Landon Jr. will also return as Missy’s ex-husband and Ted’s father, Captain Jonathan Logan. They’re joined by William Sadler, who will once again step into the role of Death. Brigette Lundy-Paine is playing Billie Logan, the daughter of Ted and Elizabeth. Samara Weaving will portray Thea Preston, Bill and Joanna’s daughter. Anthony Carrigan has also been cast in the project, possibly as the main villain.
Bill and Ted Face the Music is currently filming, and it will hit theaters on August 21, 2020.
