Does Supergirl appear in James Gunn’s Superman?
Multiple sources have reportedly told ComicBookMovie.com that Milly Alcock makes her debut as Supergirl in the upcoming Superman movie.
Prior to its theatrical release on July 11, Superman premiered at the TCL Chinese Theater on July 7, 2025. Multiple sources who have seen the movie confirm that Superman will feature two post-credit scenes.
Supergirl reportedly appears at the end of the movie asking to get her dog Krypto back. She seems drunk and calls Superman a “b—-,” before leaving with the dog. This might indicate that the cousins might be going through a rough patch. However, readers must note that the leaks come from unofficial sources, so they must be taken with a grain of salt.
In January 2024, Milly Alcock, best known for playing a young Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO’s House of the Dragon, was cast as Kara Zor-El in the 2026 DC Universe film Supergirl. Since this announcement, fans have theorized that she might appear in Superman as well.
When a fan asked director James Gunn how much screen time Alcock will have in Superman, he gave a cheeky reply saying, “I never even said she was in the movie ?” (via ScreenRant) However, fans were not convinced, and many still believe that the cameo is still on the table. Gunn’s cryptic reply combined with fan leaks suggest that it is possible that we may witness Alcock don the red and blue this Friday.
Whether or not Alcock appears in Superman remains to be seen. However, she is all set to expand the DC Universe with the upcoming 2026 Supergirl movie. The film will serve as a part of DC’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, and will arrive on June 26, 2026.
