Why Andor Fans Think Poe Dameron Is Cassian & Bix’s Son

Wondering if Poe Dameron is secretly the son of Cassian Andor and Bix Caleen in Star Wars canon? After Andor Season 2’s emotional finale revealed Bix raising a child alone following Cassian’s death, fan theories exploded online, many pointing to a potential connection with the Resistance pilot from the sequel trilogy. The timing, setting, and secrecy sparked wild speculation across social media.

Here’s what Star Wars canon actually says about Poe Dameron’s parents—and why this theory doesn’t hold up.

Is Star Wars’ Poe Dameron, Cassian Andor, and Bix’s Son?

No, Poe Dameron is not the son of Cassian Andor and Bix Caleen.

While Andor Season 2 ends with the revelation that Bix has a child, the timeline and established canon confirm Poe’s parents are Kes Dameron and Shara Bey, not Cassian and Bix.

In Andor Season 2, Bix leaves a message for Cassian explaining that she cannot be the reason he abandons the Rebellion. She later appears with a baby in the finale, suggesting she had a child with Cassian before his death on Scarif. This sparked speculation that the baby might be Poe Dameron (played by Oscar Isaac).

However, official Star Wars canon states Poe was born in 2 ABY to Rebel Alliance members Shara Bey, a pilot, and Kes Dameron, a Pathfinder. Both fought in the Battle of Endor and lived on Yavin 4. Shara died post-war, and Kes raised Poe. These facts were established in the 2015 comic series Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Shattered Empire.

The Andor finale occurs just before Rogue One, which leads directly into the Battle of Yavin. At this point, Bix’s child is already born. Poe’s documented birth after the Battle of Yavin makes it impossible for him to be Bix’s baby. Star Wars has not revised this origin in any film, series, or book.

Despite fan theories circulating online, there is no official material linking Poe to Bix and Cassian. The characters exist in overlapping timelines but belong to separate narrative arcs. Poe’s character continues to be defined by his legacy as the son of established Rebellion heroes and as a Resistance pilot.
