Who Is [Spoiler]’s New Lover? Andor Finale Explained

A scene in the Andor finale is turning heads over a new lover. We won’t spoil who this is in this opening paragraph, but we will reveal the identity of the character after the break (so fair warning!). The ending of the popular Star Wars show on Disney+ reveals snippets of what happens to several characters on the show in the epilogue, and one particular shot shows off a new partner for one of them. This person seems like a new character, but viewers with a strong memory will know who this person is and the implications of what this affair means.

Who is Perrin Fertha’s new partner in the Andor Season 2 ending?

The Andor Season 2 ending shows that Perrin Fertha’s new lover and partner is Runai Sculdun, which would be a rather scandalous affair if she’s still married to Davo Sculdun and if he’s still technically married to Mon Mothma.

In one of the epilogues in the finale, we see Perrin Fertha in the backseat of a car back in Coruscant with Runai Sculdun in a gold dress sleeping while leaning on his shoulder. He takes a bottle of alcohol from her hands and then takes a swig of alcohol himself. As a reminder, Runai Sculdun is the wife of banker Davo Sculdun and the mother of Stekan Sculdun, who married Perrin and Mon’s daughter, Leida.

The last time we saw Runai Sculdun was in Episode 6 where she joins Mon and Perrin on a tour of the Sculdun collection at a fancy soiree. She is somewhat stunned when Krennic explains how the Carmeenian people would flay their enemies.

Perrin never had the same political aspirations as his wife and has called Mon’s concerns about the Ghorman oppression “boring and sad.” While charming and sociable, he is also rather superficial and prone to the comforts of a rich lifestyle on Coruscant. While it’s not shown in the series, Perrin was likely questioned about his wife’s disappearance after her speech in the Senate, and without a partner, it would make sense that he would take Runai as a lover in her absence, away from the cares of the larger war between the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire.
