Who is Karis Nemik, and what is his manifesto in Andor Season 2?
Karis Nemik was a young freedom fighter and part of a rebel infiltration team based in Aldhani. He was introduced in Andor Season 1 Episode 4, titled “Aldhani,” which premiered on September 28, 2022.
As a fighter, he was tasked with stealing the Galactic Empire’s payroll from the Aldhani base. He was a smart and passionate individual who used to help his team in plotting their robbery and strategically finding an escape route. He was an ideal supporter of all anti-Imperial causes and was always ready to battle the Empire. Although he didn’t have much experience, he made up for it through his great ideas and by doing the things he believed were right. He also created a manifesto, which gave out details on the Empire’s continued oppression across the galaxy. He was also good at astro-navigation.
During a mission to steal the payroll, the Empire caught the team, sparking a shootout. Amid the chaos, a blast severely wounded Nemik. Although he initially survived, the loads of credits crushed him during their escape from the Eye of Aldhani. Medics tried to save him on the operating table, but he eventually died. However, his manifesto continued to spread across the galaxy, despite the Imperial Security Bureau’s attempts to stop it.

Remember this: Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause.
Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
And remember this: the Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.
Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance, will have flooded the banks of the Empire’s authority, and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.
