Andor Season 2’s Darth Jar Jar Binks Sith Gungan easter egg explained

Throughout its two-season run, the series showcased a wide range of artifacts and rare items in Luthen Rael’s gallery. However, in Season 2, there appeared a Gungan skull in her gallery, sharing a connection to the Darth Jar Jar Binks theory. There were speculations that the skull could be of Jar Jar, as it had a shocking Sith Lord detail. It gives a clever nod to the viral fan theory, which sparked five years after the Star Wars parody “Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II” aired.

In it, Ahmed Best, who voiced Jar Jar, receives a call from a guilty Emperor Palpatine. He apologizes for fooling him into giving him emergency powers in Attack of the Clones. He pretends to forgive. Later, his Sith Lord origins are revealed. It’s learnt that he wasn’t getting tricked but was manipulating the Emperor all along.

The Gungan skull in Andor Season 2 featured a Sith symbol of Darth Revan. This had many believing that it’s a reference to the popular character and the viral theory. The symbol, which is a representation of Darth Revan’s Empire, appears to confirm that it could be Star Wars’ first official Gungan Sith Lord and could possibly even be of Jar Jar.

Although no one confirmed the skull belonged to Jar Jar, it eventually provided a major update to Star Wars history. It reveals that Gungans, the amphibious sentient species, were Sith Lords at some point. Given Jar Jar falls under this race, it’s a subtle shoutout to the viral theory of his villainous arc.
