Superhero Hype’s Best Amazon Toy and Collectibles Deals for Apr 26
It’s never a bad time of year for toys. But with no Comic-Con this summer, and few toy retailers open even if folks wanted to leave the house, it’s tough to shop for them. Buy online! In this ongoing series, Superhero Hype takes a look at some of the better deals for Mar 23 that Amazon.com has running as of publication time. Please note that all deals are subject to change or sell out at any time based on supply and demand.
One of McFarlane Toys’ best Spawn sculpts of all time returns with new articulation. The old figure had ankle issues that meant it had to lean really far back to properly balance. Now, it comes with multiple points of articulation, new weapons and more.
In brightest day, in blackest night…John Stewart couldn’t make the final cut of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but he will make it into toy collections everywhere. Includes hard-light gun, armor, and backpack.
Hot Toys 12-inch figures can be pricy, but here’s a way to get several that come much smaller. In the 3-3/4 scale, these Basuit figurines include replicas from the movies, games…and even Deathstroke, for some reason. All include Batcave display cases.
STAR WARS The Black Series Jawa 6-Inch-Scale Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary Original Trilogy Collectible Figure (Amazon Exclusive)
All the details of the Black Series Jawa figure, in a cloth cape and retro-card to resemble the classic Kenner version. Utinni!
Star Wars The Black Series Jar Jar Binks 6-Inch-Scale The Phantom Menace Collectible Deluxe Action Figure
How wude! Jar Jar only just hit stores, and already the figure gets marked down! Some folks will just never warm to the clumsy Gungan whose move to approve martial law destroyed the Republic forever. Ehh, he earned those boos. The figure is pretty cool and detailed, though.
Combine the Reagan-era’s biggest political scandal with an alien invasion and Contra results. Part anti-Communist fantasy, part James Cameron sci-fi epic, the classic video game was good for hours of not-Stallone versus alien fun. In a nifty nod to the game’s inspirations, NECA‘s figure two-pack uses their Rambo figure base body, and tacks on some cool game-specific weapons and blast patterns.
This, er, doesn’t look entirely licensed by the Kubrick estate. Nonetheless, as a desk decoration, it tells the world which sci-fi epic you love. At three inches it doesn’t really scale well to any action figures, but as a standalone piece, it sets a tone.
Doctor Who 2nd Dr & Tardis Set – Classic Doctor Who Action Figure & Tardis Set – Doctor Who Merchandise – Character Options – 5.5”
Patrick Troughton’s Doctor and his suitably beaten-up TARDIS come to plastic form in this 5.5-inch figure set. While the Time Lord and his device never appeared in color during their first run, this set imagines how “The War Games” might have looked without TV camera limitations of the time. Many of his adventures are lost to history; recreate as many as you like with the toys.
Spin Sonic 360 degrees in the loop, bounce him off the working bumper, or just display him alongside other figures in this replica of a scene from his home. And be glad he has no terrifying human teeth.
Cobra’s chrome-domed weapons supplier returns to classic Real American Hero scale complete with briefcase and gun. Always ready to make a nefarious weapons sale, he can never quite figure out that…nobody beats G.I. Joe!
